Matt volunteers at the Belmont Firehouse

Matt: Go back to the fire station?

MK: You can probably go back next month if you want to. What was your favorite part about volunteering there?

Matt: The vacuum. That's right. Vacuum outside?

MK: Maybe you could sweep outside next time you go. What was your experience there like?

Matt: Vacuum inside the fire department. Clean the fire department. Clean the fireman.

(laughs)

MK: Anything else you'd like to add, Matt?

Matt: And I got my picture taken with the fire department. Tell the fireman to come here to Port City and do hangers with me.

Surprise Gift Exchange!

Our friend Bette surprised us when she brought us a whole bag of Christmas ornaments handmade by a 90-year old resident of Kenilworth Park Plaza, the housing complex where our Christmas cards were delivered last week. She said her neighbors loved the cards, and that her friend wanted to give us these gifts in return. Everyone here at Port City who helped make cards received an ornament, and we will use the extras to decorate our space next year. One gesture of kindness can truly lead to a whole chain of beautiful connections.
